3 Tips on How to Shop for Back-to-School

Costs can add up quickly when shopping for back-to-school. From pens and pencils to backpacks and shoes, here are some shopping tips to help with school supplies.

Shop Your Home

Once you have your school supply list, look through the several items listed. They may seem familiar. If this isn’t your first time at the school supply rodeo, you may have kept previously used binders, scissors, pens, or highlighters. Not to mention a backpack or lunchbox. Don’t be afraid to reuse those items where you can! It’ll save you money and maybe even a little peace.

Get the Better Buys

When you’re looking for ways to save money, research always comes into play. Every year, there are back-to-school sales. Take the time to check out prices online or from mailed ads. If you bought supplies last year, you probably have a sale email waiting for you in your inbox. Compare sale pricing, if there are any shipping costs, and find your deals.

Gently Used

How many times has your kid used an item a couple of times and then didn’t need it anymore? So have so many other kiddos! Here is a good opportunity to buy items gently used for a reduced price. Look at online marketplaces, community sales, or even from friends or family.

Here’s to a Great Year!

It’s a pretty big deal to get your kid ready for a brand new school year. After you’ve tackled the supply list and found the better deals, you can then enjoy the excitement and smiles of the first day of school!
